Authentic handmade soba in the heart of town.
Founded in the Keio era (1865-68), Shojiya is one of Yamagata's most respected soba restaurants. Buckwheat noodles are hand-cut on site and served with a broth built from carefully sourced natural ingredients. A deep list of Yamagata sake and classic soba-shop small plates round out the meal, served in a modern, open dining room.
